The Business Awards is our flagship event - and this year it needed to feel like it. The brief was to bring the Business Awards under the main brand umbrella and create something that felt genuinely prestigious. The creative direction was mine to define from there. Gold, luxury, gravitas - a visual identity that had to work for each of the three county events individually and as a unified whole. Beyond the visual identity, I identified an opportunity to eliminate single-use printed media boards across all three nights. I pitched a reusable system to the marketing and event leads - one board, designed to work across all three events and reused year on year. The result was no more single-use printed boards at any of the three events. The project also opened up a wider conversation about sustainable print across the organisation.

A director-level commission to transform a single folded leaflet into a flagship policy document - taken into the Houses of Parliament on Budget Day. Handed a Word document and free rein - the concept, the system, the visual language - I defined the entire creative direction from scratch. A flexible design system built around image-masking shapes gave each section its own identity while holding the document together as one, absorbing rounds of stakeholder and board feedback throughout. The printed document and accompanying campaign banners received national media coverage - featured on both BBC and ITV News.
Case Study
The Brief
A director-level commission to transform a single folded leaflet into a flagship policy document - taken into the Houses of Parliament on Budget Day.
The Challenge
Dense policy content covering multiple distinct political asks, including devolution, needed to feel accessible and easy to digest for an audience of politicians and business leaders - without losing authority or cohesion.
The Approach
Handed a Word document and free rein - the concept, the system, the visual language - I defined the entire creative direction from scratch. A flexible design system built around image-masking shapes gave each section its own identity while holding the document together as one, absorbing rounds of stakeholder and board feedback throughout.
Outcome
So well received it generated its own sub-brand identity - the image-masking shapes created for this document have since been used in other Chamber materials.

Generation Next was always built for a younger professional audience - but the traditional awards format wasn't serving that. After researching events and festivals for young professionals, I identified a gap: nothing like this existed in the awards space. The festival concept was my response to that. I came up with the name, developed the concept, and built the entire visual identity from there - pushing the existing brand guidelines in a new direction rather than starting from scratch. Every touchpoint was considered: a festival map in the programme, flags, lanyards - all designed to capture the feeling of the event rather than just brand it. The flowers were a deliberate response to the venue, Electric Daisy - an outdoor garden space - bridging the environment into the brand identity. The theme was collaborative, but the design language was entirely mine.

Enterprising Women is one of the organisation's most established events - and as sole designer, I was responsible for every visual touchpoint from programme to stage set, certificates to social media. The programme became the creative turning point. The lotus motif had previously existed as a static brand image - I expanded its function entirely, using it as an image mask to create a collage of curated event photography, the lotus framing and holding multiple images at once. Every photo choice was mine. The response on the night was immediate - and from there the treatment was adopted across other collateral, evolving from a programme device into a recognisable brand element in its own right. High-volume, high-visibility output - and a brand contribution that outlasted the event itself.
Additional Work
For many potential members, this is their first encounter with the Chamber - so it had to earn attention immediately. Designed to feel clean, welcoming and confident, the annual booklet and campaign extend a single design system across print, digital screens, large-format banners, and social media.
Digital Adaptation · LED Screen
Adapted from the print booklet for large-format LED display at a major regional conference.
Campaign · Banner & Social Media
The same design system applied across a roller banner and social media ad - cross-format brand thinking from a single design foundation.
I believe good design does one thing above everything else - it builds trust. Trust in an organisation, trust in what it stands for, and trust from the people it's trying to reach. That's what I design for. With extensive in-house experience across multiple brands, I've spent my career turning ideas and strategy into visual languages that work - across stages, publications, campaigns, and parliamentary briefings. I don't just execute briefs, I shape them. I've created brands from scratch, evolved existing identities, introduced sustainable systems, and built design frameworks that others now use to create within. I am ready to lead brand direction - to be part of the conversations that shape how an organisation looks, feels and is perceived, not just the one who brings decisions to life afterwards. I already advise on how my design systems are used across teams. I'm looking for a role where I can really influence direction and change.
